The Truth About Plus Size Boudoir (And Why It’s Not About Size at All)
Let’s just say it: the term "plus size boudoir" shouldn’t have to exist.
Because boudoir isn’t a size. It’s not a number stitched into a label or a magic BMI threshold. It’s not reserved for lingerie models or fitness influencers with eight-pack abs and suspiciously good lighting.
Boudoir is a celebration of you. Your body. Your energy. Your power. And yes, that includes every curve, fold, freckle, and dimple you bring to the studio.
Boudoir Isn’t About Looking Smaller—It’s About Taking Up Space
Too often, "plus size" is treated like a qualifier—as if we need to whisper it, make accommodations, or somehow ease into it like it’s taboo. But in our studio? We scrap all that. You walk in as you are, and you’re celebrated exactly for that.
It’s not about minimizing or concealing. It’s about highlighting what makes you feel like you. Whether that means showing off your legs, loving your neckline, or rocking a blazer with no bra (yes, please).
Not Your Average Posing Guide
If you’ve ever googled "flattering boudoir poses for plus size bodies," you’ve probably been hit with a mix of Pinterest boards and patronizing advice. ("Just use a lot of props." Thanks, internet.)
We approach posing from a different angle—literally and metaphorically. We work with your body, not against it. We pose to highlight what you love and soften what you’re still learning to embrace. And the result? You looking like you, just maybe the version of you that stands a little taller.
Bring the Outfits That Make You Feel Like a Knockout
Lingerie? Absolutely. But don’t stop there.
Some of our favorite looks have come from outfits that weren’t lingerie at all: ripped jeans, oversized sweaters, a killer bra under a leather jacket. The best wardrobe is the one that makes you feel powerful.
And yes, we recommend bringing a lot. Like, suitcase-level. You’ll probably only shoot in 3-4 looks, but options mean we can really zero in on what fits your vibe.
We also have a studio wardrobe with inclusive sizing, so if you want to try something bold or different, we’ve got you.
But What If I’m Not Confident Yet?
Totally normal. You don’t need to show up confident.
You just need to show up.
Confidence isn’t a prerequisite—it’s a result. We guide you every step of the way, from how to stand to how to breathe to what to do with your hands (always a crowd favorite).
The most common thing we hear after a session? "I can’t believe that’s me."
Spoiler: it is you. And we just gave you the proof.
The Reveal: Your Favorite Part (You Just Don’t Know It Yet)
About 10-14 days after your session, you’ll come back to the studio for your viewing and ordering appointment. This is where you’ll see your images for the first time—the ones that show you through a different lens (literally and emotionally).
You’ll choose the ones you love, and we’ll walk you through options to turn them into art: albums, wall portraits, folios, whatever fits your life and your style.
Some people cry. Most people laugh. A few people do both and then buy the biggest album we offer.
So Why Book a Boudoir Session?
Because you deserve to see yourself now, not "after."
Because you’re not too big or too small or too anything.
Because your body is already worthy of art.
And maybe, just maybe, because you’re ready to stop playing small and start showing up as the version of you that’s been waiting in the wings.
We’re ready when you are.
