Around this time, I found photography. I took my first darkroom class at ten years old, unaware that photography was already woven into my lineage. Years later, while clearing my grandmother’s home, I discovered drawers overflowing with candid photographs taken by my grandfather from the 1910s through the 1950s. That moment felt like a revelation—proof that this passion wasn’t accidental, but inherited. Those images remain my most treasured possessions.
I am also a survivor of violent sexual crime, and that experience—along with others—has deeply informed my ability to hold space for people with compassion and care. Trauma did not destroy me; it shaped me into a warrior who speaks through art and truth. I believe every person carries a life experience that deserves to be heard, validated, and respected. My work is rooted in listening—creating images that honor where you’ve been and who you are becoming.
Meet the Molly Founder, Photographer and Visionary
I’m originally from New Orleans, a place where art, flavor, culture, and community are inseparable. I was raised in an artistic environment rooted in the belief that all people deserve space, respect, and celebration. That foundation shaped how I move through the world—I honor culture, seek new experiences, and believe deeply in spice, contrast, and intention. My father was a chef, my mother an artist, and creativity was never optional in our home—it was how we lived.
1985 marked a year of transformation. My brother was born and became my light; loving him shaped the parent I would one day become. Shortly after, my father passed away suddenly just before my ninth birthday, and my stepfather later adopted me, expanding my understanding of chosen family.
